Trading volume is an important parameter used for trend confirmations by a wide variety of traders. The Volume block helps traders set up such conditions and then use them to make buy and sell decisions.
How does it work?
The Volume block enables users to compare the average volume for the past 'N' candles over any two time ranges.
Users can define the candle period to be taken for both ranges. Users can also modify some advanced parameters such as
- define if the calculation needs to happen on the current candle or a previous candle
- define the type of average to be used
- define a 'Persistence' or for how many candles, the condition should persist
- define an amount by which the volume is greater/lesser
Sample strategy conditions:
Below are a few examples of how a strategy condition can be set up
Trigger an event when the average volume of the previous candle is greater than the average volume of the last 10 candles:
Trigger an event when the average volume of the last 3 candles is greater than the average volume of the last 15 candles and the trend persists for 3 candles.
